C.L's Bio:

C.L's story and testimony is very unique and it gives him a perspective like no other Christian apologist.  He was descendent of former slaves who help to establish the Missionary Baptist church in the bible belt but he became disillusioned with Christianity as he understood it and converted to Sunni Islam in the late 90's. He embraced Islam as a compete way of life and became a pillar in his community, giving the call to prayer and being allowed to lead Islamic prayers at times.  After a decade of being Muslim, he felt he could no longer ignore the issues he saw in Islamic ideology and culture. At first, he attempted to address these issues with fellow Muslims but was met with major opposition. Facing the choice of remaining silent and being a good Muslim or being true to himself and facing his doubts, he chose the latter.

C.L began to think deeply about these issues and about the Jesus Christ(Yesu al-Masih), the more he studied the issue the more the biblical/historical Jesus became attractive to him. He dialogued with Christians online and for the first time heard apologetic answers to many of the doubts he had about Christianity. He came to the point that in his heart he no longer believed in the religion of Islam but he did believe in the good news of al-Masih. The only thing left was to go public with his new beliefs which he knew would cost him. O
n December 11th, 2010(The same date he took the Shahadah 10 years earlier) he got down on his knees and confessed that Jesus was Lord, He repented of all the blasphemies that he had uttered about Jesus and the Bible. Finally, he found spiritual rest putting full trust in the person and work of Jesus Christ.

Since that time he felt a burden to witness for Christ's glory and honor, doors opened for him to do that after meeting Christian Apologists like David Wood. He has been able to appear on ABN's Jesus or Muhammad and work with The Center for Religious Debate. C.L went on to attend Bible college and earned a degree in Biblical Studies, his other future plans include the desire to hold the offer of a Church Elder and expanding Christian outreach efforts to Muslim's in southeast Michigan and beyond.
